Accessibility
Our accessibility statement, our plan, and how to tell us about a barrier.
-
1. Our commitment
We want everyone in British Columbia to be able to use this site, whatever their abilities and whatever technology they use. BCLC is a prescribed organisation under the Accessible British Columbia Act (S.B.C. 2021, c. 19) and B.C. Reg. 105/2022, with effect from 1 September 2023, and this page is published to meet the requirement to have an accessibility plan and a mechanism for receiving feedback on barriers.

2. Conformance statement
This website is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Conformance is partial: we know of remaining issues and they are listed under “Known issues and what we are doing” below. We assess conformance by a combination of automated testing, manual keyboard-only testing, and testing with screen readers.
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Stating a target is not the same as claiming perfection, which is why the known issues below are published rather than omitted — a conformance statement with no known issues is usually a statement nobody has tested. -
3. What we have done
All interactive controls are reachable and operable with a keyboard, in a logical order, with a visible focus indicator. The age gate and the cookie banner are modal dialogues that trap focus while open and can be dismissed from the keyboard. The mobile navigation opens as a full-screen panel that can be scrolled and closed with the keyboard. Text and interface elements meet a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 in every state. Images have text alternatives, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technology. Every image declares its width and height so the page does not shift as it loads. Form fields have programmatically associated labels, and errors are announced in text, not by colour alone. Motion respects the “reduce motion” setting of your operating system.
Text and interface colours are measured against the 4.5:1 contrast requirement rather than judged by eye. Every interactive element is reachable and visible from the keyboard, dialogs trap focus while they are open and return it when they close, and animation is disabled automatically when the device asks for reduced motion.Measured, not assumed - 4.5:1 contrast on body text Measured against the rendered background, not the intended one
- Full keyboard operation Every control reachable, with a visible focus ring
- Focus trapped in dialogs And returned to where it came from on close
- Reduced motion honoured Animation disabled when the device requests it

4. Known issues and what we are doing
Game catalogue: the casino catalogue is long, and we are adding pagination so that assistive technology users do not have to traverse the whole list. Target date: Q4 2026.
Alternative text: the alternative text for game artwork is generated from the game name; we are reviewing it so that it describes the artwork where the artwork carries meaning. Target date: Q4 2026.
French: the site is currently published in English only. Target date: to be confirmed with the operator.
This list is updated whenever a barrier is reported or resolved. -
5. Tell us about a barrier

A report that names the page, the assistive technology and what you expected to happen is one we can act on directly. We will confirm receipt and tell you what we find, including when the answer is that a fix will take time. -
6. Who is responsible
Responsibility for accessibility sits with the Accessibility Lead, British Columbia Lottery Corporation, 74 West Seymour Street, Kamloops, BC V2C 1E2, accessibility@lottobcmobile.co.

7. Review
This statement and the accessibility plan behind it are reviewed at least once every three years, and sooner if the site changes materially or feedback indicates a barrier that the plan does not address. This version was published on 26 August 2026; the next review is due by 26 August 2029.
