1. What cookies are, and where this policy applies
This website is operated by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), a Crown corporation of the Province of British Columbia, located at 74 West Seymour Street, Kamloops, BC V2C 1E2, Canada. This policy applies to lottobcmobile.co and to promo.lottobcmobile.co. Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit our website. We also use similar technologies such as pixels / web beacons and local storage; all of them are listed in the table below. They help us recognise your settings, keep you signed in, improve security and understand how the site is used. This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

2. Consent, our CMP and how long consent lasts
On your first visit you will see a cookie banner (Consent Management Platform) that describes the cookies we use and lets you choose by category; keeps non-essential cookies switched OFF by default (opt-in, with no pre-checked boxes); offers three equally sized, equally weighted options in a single row — "Accept all", "Reject all" and "Manage settings"; and records your choice and lets you change it at any time via "Manage cookies" in the footer of every page on both sites. We do not currently load Google Analytics, Google Ads or any other analytics or advertising tag on this site.
Your consent is valid for 12 months, after which the banner is shown again. If we change the set of cookies we use, or publish a new version of this policy, we ask for your consent again rather than relying on the old one. The version of the policy in force when you made your choice is recorded with it.
We log each consent decision: the date and time, the categories you accepted or refused, the version of this policy that was shown, and a consent identifier. Consent records are retained for at least 24 months and are provided to you on request, or to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (OIPC) if it asks for them. -
3. Categories of cookies
Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required) handle session management, security and CSRF protection, and storing your consent. Functional cookies (consent required) remember preferences such as display settings. Analytics cookies (consent required) would help us understand and improve the site; none are set at present. Marketing cookies (consent required) would support advertising and measurement; none are set at present. All four categories have their own switch in the banner, so a category we do not currently use can only ever be enabled with your consent.

4. Cookie and technology table
ACMESESS — cookie — strictly necessary — session management and sign-in — LottoBC Mobile (first party) — expires at the end of the session.
lutano_cookie_consent — local storage — strictly necessary — stores your cookie choices, the policy version and the consent identifier — LottoBC Mobile (first party) — 12 months.
lutano_age_ok — local storage — strictly necessary — remembers that you confirmed you are 19+ — LottoBC Mobile (first party) — 12 months.
No functional, analytics or marketing cookie, pixel or web beacon is set on this site at present. If that changes, this table is updated before the technology is enabled, the policy version is incremented and consent is requested again. -
5. Managing your choices
Use "Manage cookies" in the footer of any page at any time — including after you have already given consent — or your browser settings, to review, change, withdraw or block cookies. Refusing non-essential cookies is exactly as easy as accepting them: the refusal button is the same size, colour and weight as the acceptance button and sits beside it. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop the site working correctly.

6. Cross-border processing
Personal information collected through this site is stored and processed in Canada. No analytics or advertising tag that transfers personal information outside Canada is in use. Before any such technology — for example Google Analytics 4 or a Google Ads tag, which transfer data to the United States — is enabled, we will complete and document an assessment under section 33.1 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (British Columbia), record in this policy what data is transferred, to which jurisdiction and on what authority, and request your consent again. No tag will be added before that assessment has been documented.

7. Legal framework, changes and contact
We use cookies in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (British Columbia) — in particular section 26 (authority to collect), section 27 (notification of purpose) and section 30 (protection of personal information) — under the oversight of the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (OIPC). This policy is written to British Columbia public-sector privacy law, not to the GDPR, and does not use GDPR concepts such as "legal basis". We may update this policy from time to time; the current version, with its effective date and version number, is always available here. Privacy and cookie enquiries can be sent to the Privacy Officer, BCLC, 74 West Seymour Street, Kamloops, BC V2C 1E2, privacy@lottobcmobile.co, or through the contact form at https://lottobcmobile.co/en/contact/.
