Lotto 6/49

Gold Ball Jackpot from $10 million

Pick 6 of 49 · $3 CAD

$3 per play. The Classic Draw top prize is a share of C$5,000,000, at odds of 1 in 13,983,816; the overall odds of winning a Classic Draw prize are 1 in 6.6. The Gold Ball Draw is separate: it starts at $10 million, grows by $2 million each draw and is capped at $68 million. The Gold Ball jackpot has no single fixed "1 in X" figure — the chance of winning depends on how many Gold Ball Draw Numbers were issued for that draw, and the chance that the win is the jackpot rather than C$1,000,000 depends on how many prize balls remain.

How draw games work

In a draw game such as Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49 or BC/49 you select a set of numbers from a fixed range, or add games like Keno, BC 50/50 and Extra. After the cut-off, the winning numbers are drawn by a certified random number generator and your line is compared against them. The more numbers you match, the higher the prize tier — match them all for the jackpot, which can be shared among winners in the same tier.

A draw game is settled at a fixed time, not on demand: you buy a line, the draw happens on its schedule, and the result is validated before it is applied to any ticket. That gap is a feature. It is what makes a draw game one decision rather than a sequence of them, and it is why the pace of lottery play is different from casino play.

Quick Pick or your own numbers

Have numbers you like? Tap them in. Prefer to leave it to chance? Quick Pick generates a random line instantly. You can play multiple lines and check the cost before you confirm. Every entry is recorded in your account so you can review your history at any time.

Quick Pick and chosen numbers have identical odds. Neither the machine nor a birthday improves a line — each combination is equally likely, and past results do not make any combination more or less due. The only thing choosing your own numbers changes is how many other people might have picked the same line, and therefore how a prize would be shared.

Play within your limits

Lottery odds are long and jackpots are rare by design — play for fun, not as a way to make money. You must be 19 or older and a resident of British Columbia to play. A weekly deposit limit is mandatory when you register, and loss, time and reality-check limits are switched on by default. Help is always one tap away on our Responsible Gaming page, or from Gambling Support BC at 1-888-795-6111, 24/7.

The number of lines on a single play is capped for every game, and a deposit limit set in your account applies across all of them. If you raise a limit, the increase only takes effect 24 hours later and can be cancelled in the meantime; a decrease applies immediately.

Prize tiers, odds and claiming

Prize tiers and the overall odds of winning are published in the official game conditions issued by BCLC for each game; we do not restate them here. The conditions for any game are available from Customer Support on request, and the rules that govern them are set out in our Specific Conditions of Use. Winning numbers are drawn by a certified random number generator on each game's published schedule, and results are posted after the draw and recorded in your account. Prizes must be claimed within 52 weeks (one year) of the draw date unless BCLC has announced otherwise for a particular game. Smaller prizes are credited automatically; before any withdrawal we complete identity, age and residency verification (KYC), and payouts are made to a verified payment method in your own name. Top prizes can be shared among winners in the same tier.

Odds and prize tiers are published in the Specific Conditions of Use rather than restated on the game cards, so there is a single authoritative copy of them. Smaller prizes are credited to your account once the draw is validated. Above the threshold set out in those conditions, a prize is claimed rather than credited, and Customer Support will tell you exactly what that involves.
